She will be remembered for the love and kindness she gave to her family and friends. Beloved mother of Dale (Helen) from Loring, Bob (Barb) from Barrie, and Cathy Fines (John) of Omemee. Predeceased by her brother Carl Adams and sister Margaret Down.
Beloved Gramma to Andy, Tiffany, Sarah, Bob, Joe, and Tiarra. Cherished Great Gramma to Bianca and Lillian. Phyllis will be lovingly missed by her very special niece Pat Adams and many nieces and nephews, and cousins, and especially Kevin McCabe for his loving support.
She was one of the founding members of Courtice United Church, and later Faith United Church, where she was very involved with church activities. She had an extensive love of music that developed in early childhood and remained with her throughout her life. She was an accomplished pianist, and also played the accordion and organ. She always had a piano in her home.
She was an avid sports fan, and always enjoyed the Blue Jays, Leafs, Tennis and Curling. She also played baseball, and curled when younger.
Phyllis will be sadly missed by her extended family and many great friends.
Visitation will be at Faith United, 1776 Nash Road Courtice, at 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:30 p.m. to celebrate Phyllis’s life. Reception to follow.
The family would like to thank Lakeridge Health Oshawa palliative care nurses and doctors for their exceptional care, and are grateful to family and friends for their visits, cards and calls. A special blessing to Phyllis was the beautiful prayer shawl which arrived from Faith United.
