Janet Irene Mendez

Janet Irene Mendez passed away at the age of 74 years on July 10, 2013 in Covina, California. She was born on April 30, 1939 in Akron, Ohio, to Bruce and June Millican. Janet lived over 45 years of her life in the Los Angeles area, working primarily as a waitress, but most importantly as an adoring mother. She is survived by her loving husband, Alfred Mendez; her son Albert Mendez; her grandchildren, Jacob and Kimana Mendez; her step-daughter Ramona Gantz of Battleground, WA; eight step-grandchildren, and eighteen step-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to her son, Albert Mendez.

Help Me Lord

You are ushering in another day

Untouched and freshly new

So here I am to ask you, Lord,

If you'll renew me, too,

Forgive the many errors

That I made yesterday

And let me try again, dear Lord,

To walk closer in Thy Way.

But, Lord, I am well aware

I can't make it on my own

So Take My Hand and Hold It Tight

For I can't Walk Alone!
