

Jose Noche Banog I was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Jose will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Jose was born on March 19, 1933 in Taal, Batangas, Philippines. He was the son of Eugenio and Teofila Banog. Jose grew up in Rosario, Batangas, Philippines.
Jose was raised with four siblings. He had Josepito, Rosie t, Beda and Nanet. Jose was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young boy, Jose had a number of interests. Like most children, he enjoyed playing and making up games. He was curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it. He was a Boy Scout, Trumpet player and played Bugle up to High School. In his spare time he liked swimming. However, to Jose, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with his friends.
A typical teenager, Jose had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Padre Garcia Memorial Academy. He enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. The teacher he enjoyed learning from the most was Mr. Aguilar.
Jose enjoyed his college years, which may have been a challenge with all of the academics, responsibilities, and the sudden freedom that accompanied them, but Jose was able to manage the balancing act. He earned his B. S. in Business Administration at the University of East.
On April 15, 1959 Jose exchanged wedding vows with Monina Samarista Layson at Loreto Church of Sampoloc, Manila. Empathic and loyal, Jose was committed to making his new family happy.
Jose worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Jose was blessed with seven children, Agnes, Buen, Carlo, Butch, Bong, Ricky and Jason. He was also blessed with 19 grandchildren.
Fortunately, Jose enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Jose worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was a government post in Civil Service Commission. He was employed for more that 20 years in the Civil Service Commission. Jose always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Jose found pleasure in sports. In high school, Jose played basketball and biking. In his college years, Jose continued to stay active by basketball and biking. Jose was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so. Tops on his list were tennis and basketball (Miami Heat team, Coach Spoelstra).
Jose’s faith was important to him. He was a member of Voice of Truth Christian Fellowship for 10 years.
Jose was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. His family was rounded out by his fighting cocks.
Jose passed away on March 18, 2013 at Covina, California. He is survived by his wife Monina, children Agnes, Joseph, Carlo, Butch, Mike, Leo, Jason and 19 grandchildren. Services were held at Custer Christiansen Chapel. Jose was laid to rest in the Philippines.
Simply stated, Jose was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Jose leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Jose Noche Banog I.
