6 février 1943 – 27 janvier 2025
Avis de décès de Ann Staples Perkins
AUX SOINS DE

Grace Funeral Home & St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ann Perkins, on January 27, 2025, in Covington, Louisiana. Born on February 6, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Leroy and Sylvia Staples.

Ann’s educational journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Language from Newcomb College in New Orleans and, after settling in Lake Charles, volunteered as a French Teacher at Immaculate Conception Cathedral School. Her passion for healthy living drove her to complete a Degree in Nutrition from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, which she used working for Moss Regional Hospital. There she shared her extensive knowledge to promote healthy living within the community.

Her commitment to serving others extended beyond her professional life. Ann was a member of various organizations, including the Chi Omega Sorority and the Junior League of Lake Charles. While living in Abita Springs, she took great pride in her roles on the election commission, a docent at the Trailhead Museum, and was involved in the local Garden Club.

Ann was a dynamic individual with a wide range of hobbies and interests. She found great pleasure in playing tennis at the Racquet Club in Lake Charles, was an avid gardener, and had an uncanny ability for finding four leaf clovers.

She is survived by her three children, Susan, Sam, and Bruce, who carry on her legacy of kindness and strength. Ann was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren: Simone, Phoebe, Turner, Megan, Alex, Graham, and William, and she cherished the moments spent with her four great-grandchildren. She was also blessed with close siblings, Sylvia Dulaney and Peter Staples, who shared countless memories with her.

Ann will forever be remembered for her strong will, dry sense of humor, and unwavering determination, love and deep commitment to her family and community. Her spirit will continue to shine through her family and the many lives she touched.

A private service will be held to honor her remarkable life, reflecting her unwavering belief in the importance of family and community.
