

Cindy Ann Boyer (Sweeney), age 70, passed away on May 4, 2026. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Cindy was a longtime resident of Hammond, Louisiana, where she built a life centered around family and community.
Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Donald; her children, Michelle (Jay), Stephanie (Marquas), and Stephen (Tanae); her beloved dog, Sonny; and her cherished grandchildren, Cassie, Arianna, Kelsey, Dasia, Haylee, Aiden, Brody, and Dominic. She is also survived by her mother, Lynn; her siblings, Kathy (Bryant), Kerry (Kathy), Sherry (Warren), and Scott (Jennifer); as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard; her father-in-law, Earl; her mother-in-law, Dorothy; and her siblings, Donna (Keith) and Keith.
Cindy was a numbers extraordinaire who dedicated many years of her professional life as a staff accountant and bookkeeper. Beyond her career, she found her greatest joy in her family, her faithful dog Sonny, tending to her garden, and spending time outdoors. She also had a love for square dancing and enjoyed listening to the band Trio, which brought her great happiness. Cindy was known for her infectious smile, which could light up any room and made everyone around her feel welcome and loved.
She was a dedicated member of her community, serving as the longstanding president of the Belle Oaks Garden Club and holding many positions within the Y Knots Square Dancing Club.
Cindy was especially well known for her devoted volunteer work with Girl Scouts of America, where she served as a troop leader and as the longtime director of Camp Fun Day Camp. Her impact on the lives of countless young people and families will be remembered for years to come
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the Grace Funeral Home (450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA 70433). A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the Grace Funeral Home (450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA 70433).
Cindy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her legacy of love, kindness, and service will live on in the many lives she touched.
