Dewey is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara “Bobbie” (Melancon) Morrison; his children Ashley Morrison (Scott), Candy Derenbecker (Mark), Brandy Sylve and stepson René Eppling (Shannon); eight grandchildren Kaylee, Brandon, Maghan, Angie, Gabrielle, JJ, Sean, and Skylar, and two great-grandchildren A’mani and Alexis. He is also survived by two brothers David Morrison and Douglas Morrison.
Dewey is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Delmas “Doc” Morrison and Daniel Morrison.
Beginning with his cross-country travels as a delivery driver, Dewey worked for Saia Motor Freight Co., for 35 years, before he retired in March 2023. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a tremendously loving and giving man. Dewey never met a stranger. He would help anyone, anytime, for any reason. His favorite pastimes and hobbies were spending time with family, cooking, rewatching his favorite movies, reading the Bible, forwarding the Sunday comics to his family and bird feeding/watching.
A celebration of life will be held privately.
