Dianne graduated from East Jefferson High School in 1961, then briefly attended Southeastern University in Hammond, Louisiana. After her time there, Dianne became a waitress at the New Orleans International Airport, followed by many years of waitressing at the Peppermill Restaurant in Metairie. Through endeavors like this, she found her love for the hospitality industry. Throughout these years, her lively spirit enjoyed membership of many social clubs and dancing, whether it was taking a class or teaching one. Dianne enjoyed all types of dancing, including ballroom dancing, Cajun dancing, line dances, and tap. Dianne was currently a member of the Ritmeaux Krewe, Louisiana's first ever Latin dance marching group, and the Republicans Women Club. Other hobbies included volunteer work at places such as the MSY Airport and The Friends of the Cabildo. Out on the dance floor is where she met her late husband, Ozzie. After getting married, they move to Marietta, Ohio, the place they called home for many years.
Dianne had always been an avid traveler, but she soon found her calling as licensed tour guide and travel agent. She started her job in the travel industry with bus tours, conducting senior and student tours throughout the United States and Canada. Specializing in tour experience and knowledge in about 15 states, and international locations such as Mexico, the Caribbean, Japan, Europe, and Africa. She fell in love with not only seeing the world but showing others all the great places the world had to offer. She did this for many years, before eventually making her way into the cruise line world.
She soon became a part of the Norwegian Cruise Line family as cruise staff for 3 years. She worked on the Pride of America, traveling to the Hawaiian Islands. As a part of cruise staff on this ship, she led dance competitions and dance classes, worked with children programs on board, and held trivia game nights. On this ship, she met some of her greatest friends, along with creating memories that would last a lifetime. She was known for her contagious smile, enthusiasm, and kindness by co-workers, along with cruise passengers. Her personality and unwavering work ethic were strong assets to the Norwegian Cruise Line.
Outside of working on the cruise ship, Dianne was a frequent sailor, traveling on many different cruises to destinations such as Greece, the Netherlands, the Mediterranean, Alaska, and the Bahamas. She also worked in remarkable places such as Alaska and Key West for months at a time. Back at home, Dianne and Ozzie had found their new happy place in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas where they lived until the passing of Ozzie. When she wasn't working, her and Ozzie enjoyed trips to the farmer's market, watching the wildlife in their backyard, taking outings within the village, and participating in community theatre performances.
Although Dianne was known for her young spirit and her travels around the globe, back home she was a wonderful Grammy to her grandkids. She was young spirited, never dull, and always had a fun idea. Because of her experience in the travel industry, she was able to share her love for travel with her kids and grandkids. They were able to spend many years traveling to places they had never been before, scratching things off their bucket list, and making unforgettable memories with their Grammy.
Dianne was adventurous, kind-spirited, and one of a kind. She has traveled the globe, making sure to never take any small experience for granted and leaving her mark all of the world. Through memories of being able to grow up with Dianne, pictures that showed just how contagious her smile was, and the stories told by old co-workers and lifelong friends, it was obvious that she left her mark on the hearts of many as well.
