Marie Louise Tusa

Marie Spizale Tusa, beloved mother, wife, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, at age 89 after a lifetime defined by energy, unwavering resilience and a devotion to the people she loved.

Born in 1936 during a time of global hardship and profound uncertainty, she entered the world with a resilience that would become her defining trait. She grew up against the backdrop of the ending of WWII. She remembered standing in the streets at the age of 9 with her dad celebrating the end of this horrific war. She continued to emerge with a strength, optimism, and resourcefulness that carried her throughout her life.

She filled her 89 years on earth with purpose, curiosity, and connection. She was never one to sit still; she was actively involved in her church, working out with friends at Pelican Athletic Club, standing Friday night dinner with friends, Bunco games, Supper Club and lunch dates with many friends.

Her friendships ran so deep, and her kindness and loyalty made her a source of joy and inspiration to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

For 55 years she was married to Michael Tusa, with whom she built a family, a home, and a lifetime of memories. After his passing in 2011, she continued to honor him through her resilience and strength.

In time, she opened her heart once again and found a love like no other with Mike Moore, with whom she shared 13 wonderful years filled with love and laughter.

She will be remembered for her humor, her incredible spirit, and her unwavering loyalty and devotion to her loved ones.

Marie is survived by her children, Kevin Tusa (Marilyn), Michele Tusa, Gina Tusa Martin (Tristan), Michael Tusa Jr, stepdaughter Laura Michelle Moore (Matt) and was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Ann Tusa. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Zoe, Skylar, Angelle, & Kevin. She was a steady anchor for Zoe and Skylar, offering them wisdom and showing them the meaning of joy. She showered them with unconditional love that helped shape the adults they are today.

A service to honor her life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Grace Funeral Home (450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington). Visitation starts at 11am followed by a service at Grace Funeral Home to honor her life at 12noon.
