Reba Elizabeth Artigue Herty, age 65, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Devoted wife of the late Floyd William Herty, Jr., loving mother of Jessica Herty Orillion (Jeffrey) and Floyd (Trey) W. Herty, III, daughter of the late Joseph Maurice Artigue and Eula Mae Meche Artigue, sister of Gail Artigue Murray (James), Linda Artigue Buday (Ernie), Jeanette Artigue Burns (David), Warren Gene Artigue (Mary), and Dawn Artigue Davezac (Tim), proud grandmother “Nanna” of Evan, Emma, Luke, and Logan Orillion, and aunt to a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Reba was born August 9, 1957 in Arnaudville, LA. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1975. Reba proudly volunteered in her children’s classrooms and at their schools, and later worked in the St. Bernard School System as a substitute and office administrator at N.P. Trist Middle School. She also worked alongside her husband at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home for several years. After Hurricane Katrina, Reba relocated to the Northshore where she quickly became known for her exceptional Cajun cooking at her brother’s store, Artigue’s Abita Market. One of her favorite hobbies was sharing family recipes with her children and grandchildren. She also loved cheering on “Bubba, Lukie Duke, and Lolo” at their basketball, soccer, and football games, and admiring her favorite dancer, “Emma Lou.” She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and her Goldendoodle, Cooper.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Grace Funeral Home, 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA 70433 beginning at 10:30 AM. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Grace Funeral Home, with Msgr. Frank Giroir officiating.

Emma would like to present a check with her studio at her Rainbow Dance Competition in Slidell in April in memory of her Nanna. If you knew my mom, one of her favorite things was watching her Emma dance, and she attended every competition she could.
