Susan Ducote Monson

Susan Ducote Monson, age 71, a resident of Mandeville, Louisiana was taken to heaven on February 19, 2022. Her death resulted from complications arising from heart surgery. She passed peacefully during the recitation of the Holy Rosary surrounded by her family at the Hospice House in Slidell, LA.

Susan was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She lived a life of generosity and concern for others guided by daily prayer, and a dedication to the teachings of her Catholic faith. Her love for her family and God was the center of her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Susan was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and LSU. She was the co-founder of the insurance brokerage firms The Monson Company and Monson General Agency.

She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Curtis Monson, Jr., her sons Matthew Monson and Mark Monson, her daughter-in-law Katherine Hussey Monson, her grandchildren Andrew Monson, Jessica Monson and Savannah Monson, her siblings Eugene Ducote, Jr., Don Ducote, and Leslie Ducote DeLoach.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on March 26, 2022 at OUR LADY OF THE LAKE CHURCH, located at 312 Lafitte Street, Mandeville, Louisiana, followed by the Celebration of the Catholic Mass at 11:00 AM. A private interment will be held at All Saints Mausoleum at Metairie Cemetery. Donations in Susan's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org in lieu of flowers.
