Teresa Lynn (Thompson) Wood

Teresa was a loving wife, mother, “mimi,” sister, cousin, aunt, and friend whose quiet strength and generous spirit touched all that knew her.

Born to the late Donald E. Thompson and Mary Dorothy Thompson, Teresa is survived by her siblings: Donald E. Thompson II known as “Rocky” and Donna Hutchinson married to Randy Hutchinson.

She was the proud mother of Lauren Michelle Butcher married to Ryan Butcher and Mimi to their three adoring children Charlotte, Quinn and Silvie who brought her the greatest joy.

Teresa had three stepchildren Stacia Hershberger married to Steve Hershberger, Michelle Wood married to Chip Binning, and John Michael Wood Jr. She was also a proud Mimi to their children Alec, Ethan and Chloe.

Teresa had numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and special aunts that she loved dearly.

Teresa had a passion for art and discovered later in life her own talent of creating beautiful paintings that she shared with family and friends. She had a love for travel and enjoyed the peacefulness of the beach, walking along its shores collecting seashells with her nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Teresa had the most tender heart for animals and loved her poodles, Annie, Stella, Coco and Goldie.

Teresa will forever be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and devotion to family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Grace Funeral Home, 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m.
