Chris was a father, brother, son, veteran, mechanic, coal miners, a grandfather, but overall a good man. Chris was born on July 28th 1979 at the Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego California. In November of 1985 Chris and his family moved to Craig and it became their forever home. Chris started his education at Sunset Elementary School and ended his schooling at Moffat County High School. Growing up he was just like every other little boy that loved doing the boy things like riding dirt bikes, sledding, and skiing. As he got older he started to grow a fascination with Hot Rod cars, and who could ride dirt bikes faster. When Chris got into high school he found a love for bull riding and rodeo…. That phase didn’t last very long. After high school was his next big chapter, one of the nearest and dearest to him; joining the Military. He would tell every person he knew it was the best experience of his life. He was stationed in Wurzburg, Germany and made memories that he would tell you were irreplaceable and would last a lifetime. In 2009 he met his forever love and wife Jess. Jess changed his life forever in the best way possible, he started to grow out of his party stages and realized he couldn’t mess this one up. He began to mature and be a father to his three children, Tracer, Tatam, and Kayce. As the kids got older he became very involved in showing the kids the way of life he lived. He taught them how to ride dirt bikes, tie their shoes, and how to be the best they can possibly be in life. He taught each one of his children how to be driven, motivated, and determined just as he was in life to be successful. His biggest success was his so called “palace” he and Jess had built for themselves. They bought a house on a hill out of town with some property and went to work to make it their dream home. Chris was so proud of the progress that was made and they soon bought some horses to fill the property. Horses quickly became one of his new hobbies and something he loved almost as much as snowmobiling in the mountains with all his friends. Chris lived his life to the fullest every day, he made each day a great day. He always stayed positive even through his long fight of cancer… he never let it stop him from doing what he truly loved. If you asked his wife she would say “he lived for the day… each and every day doing what he loved” The family's peace of mind through this time he is passed doing what he loved the most and spending time with friends and family. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at The Journey at First Baptist Church. A reception will follow the service with a potluck meal. The family asks if you able, please bring a dish to share. Memorial donations may be made to the Always Wear Your Seatbelt Foundation in care of Grant Mortuary.
