Dena was born September 2, 1942, in Yreka, California, to Jacob and Vesta Fisher. She was raised in Yreka before moving to Colorado in 1971, where she made her home and built a life defined by hard work, determination, and devotion to her family. Over the years she worked various jobs in the area, always carrying with her the grit, strength, and independence that those who knew her admired.
Granny D was known for her toughness and for saying exactly what was on her mind. She was never afraid to speak honestly, and those who loved her knew they could always count on her for the truth. Beneath that strong and straightforward nature was a woman whose heart belonged completely to her family.
Her greatest joy in life was supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was truly their biggest fan, traveling across towns and across states whenever she could to attend their games, performances, and special events. If her family was involved, Dena wanted to be there – cheering the loudest and beaming with pride.
She also enjoyed photography and spent many hours creating scrapbooks filled with family memories. Through those photographs and pages, she preserved the moments that meant the most to her.
Dena was married to Ray Price who preceded her in death on February 8, 2008.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharla (David) Satterwhite of Nephi, Utah; her son-in-law, Jim Pfiefer; her granddaughters, Crystal (Wayne) Gray and Angie (Kyle) Reish; and her beloved great-granddaughters, Kimberly Gray and Michelle Gray.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Vesta Fisher; her husband, Ray Price; her daughter, Vanda Pfiefer; her sisters, Mae Marr and Laura Stover; her brother, Earl Fisher; and her grandson, Jacob Satterwhite.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 13, 2026, at Grant Mortuary in Craig, Colorado, with Leonard Browning officiating.
Dena will be remembered for her strength, her honesty, and the fierce love she had for her family. She showed that loved by being present – cheering from the stands, celebrating every milestone, and never missing a chance to support the people she loved most.
For those that she loved, she was our biggest fan often the loudest cheerleader in the stands and the most honest voice in the room. Our family will forever carry the strength, pride, and unwavering love she gave so freely.
