Glenda Lee Backes

Glenda Lee Lewis Backes aka (the guinea) born to Otis and Mary Lewis on December 21, 1941 went home to be with the Lord on August 2, 2025 from her house. She is preceded in death by husband Larry Backes Sr. 8/2023, sister Otistene Wrinkle, brothers Jerry Lewis, Steve Lewis. Left to cherish her memory is sister Charlene Bell, Brothers Dave Lewis, James (Tony)Lewis, Tom Lewis.

Glenda has three sons: Larry (wife Terry) Backes, Randy (wife Lyla) Backes, Charlie (Daughter Carrie)Backes. Bonus child Tom. 12 Grandkids, 6 Great grandkids, 2 great great grandkids.

Mrs. Glenda was a member of Victory in Grace Baptist Church in Craig CO. Her interest included quilting, sudoku puzzle, gardening, and she loved spending time with her family. Glenda was one of the most laid back go with what life sent type of person, change what you can and if not roll with it . Her favorite saying was “it is what it is” . One thing that needs to be known about Glenda is she can not swim.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 15, 2025, at Victory in Grace Baptist Church in Craig. Interment will follow at Hayden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Glenda's memory to Victory in Grace Baptist Church in care of Grant Mortuary, 621 Yampa Avenue, Craig, CO 81625.
