

Richard Lee Dunckley Sr. was born April 15, 1933 in Oak Creek, Colorado to Ralph C. Dunckley and Mary Kathryn (Temple) Dunckley. Dick served his tour of duty in the Korean War as a radar tech on a twin engine P2V searching for enemy ships and subs. His main duty station was in Okinawa Japan. Dick and Jane (Beach) got married on November 11 (at 11pm) 1956. Dick and Jane travelled across the US while Dick worked as a Field Superintendent for Ecodyne Cooling Products. This adventure took Dick to 48 different states in his work. After a time, Jane and the kids traveled along with him to his destinations. After years of being gone, Dick and Jane moved back to the area, Dick worked many odd jobs to keep busy but most people would remember him as “Dunck” from MJK. He was a great Dad to Ginger, Richard Jr, Robert (Annette), Curk (deceased) and Todd (Sherry). He was Grandpa to Jama and Janie, Ty and Kayla, Justin Montgomery, Kassie and Kandyce, Sadie and Cody. Great Grandpa to Shelby, Bridger and Wilder and many more from the blended families. Dick is also survived by his two sisters; Judy Kay Hockett and Norma Jo Nachtman. “Dunck” will be remembered for saying "Sure do love ya”. “Dunck” passed away after a year of wonderful care at the Veterans Community Living Center in Rifle, on November 4, 2023. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Colorado Veterans Living Center Residential Benefit Fund in care of Grant Mortuary.
