Stacy Michelle Glaze was born on March 17, 1969 in Fairbanks, Alaska, where her father was stationed at Eielson Air Force Base. Her parents are Linda Sue Lawler, and the late Michael Jon Lawler. Stacy is also survived by her husband of 34 years Doug Glaze, her younger brother Mark Monroe Lawler as well as her two daughters, Elizabeth Glaze and Alexandra Glaze.
Stacy lived a life full of kindness, laughter, and purpose. Despite time spent in both Alaska and Indiana as a young child, Stacy undeniably grew up in Durango, CO. Stacy graduated from Durango High School in 1987.
Throughout her life, Stacy touched countless hearts through her generosity and unwavering spirit. She was known for her bright ocean blue eyes and her big beautiful smile. She later attended college at Fort Lewis in Durango and then transferred to the University of New Mexico. A few years later she met Doug Glaze and they married on August 12, 1995 and had two children, Elizabeth and Alexandra. Her legacy of love, resilience, and compassion will live on in all who knew her. She was a wonderful and attentive wife/mother all of her life. She worked for a short period as an insurance auditor at US Reports in Loveland, CO but soon realized being more involved with her children, ranch, and husband was the life for her. Later, she became an extraordinary grandmother to her 4 grandchildren. She was the light of their lives and spent endless hours with all of them. Being together as a family was her biggest joy; a loud house full of children running around, playing, and adults sitting at the kitchen table telling stories. She valued and loved every single person in her life; talking with her was like watching the sunrise. Though she is no longer with us, her light will forever shine bright in all of our hearts. We will carry Stacy's memory with us always, cherishing the moments we have all shared with her.
Throughout her life Stacy was a genuine lover of animals, but horses were one of her true passions. She fully immersed herself in rearing, training, and competing with her beloved Arabians from her childhood until early in her adult life. She was a Colorado State Champion in 4H, was crowned Fiesta Queen of La Plata County, and achieved Region 8 championship honors. The experiences, lessons, successes, and relationships Stacy developed while immersed in the world of horses were formative and shaped the wonderful woman we loved. Stacy passed away on Tues., Dec. 9, 2025, at Banner Health North CO Medical Center in Greeley.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sat., Dec. 20, 2025, at the Yampa Bible Church in Yampa, CO. Interment will follow at the Yampa Cemetery.
