Rev. Albert "Al" H. Lynn

Born July 19, 1933 in Huntsville, Missouri to Charles William and Anna Bell (Brewer) Lynn, he married Elsie M. Westfall on June 14, 1952 in Higbee, Missouri. She died on July 23, 2019 in rural Peoria. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Jefferson Lynn and three sisters, Edna Terrill, Ruth Carter and Delores Hurtado.

Surviving are one daughter, Cindy (Dan) Bonnette of Pekin; two sons, Rev. David (Diane) Lynn of Creve Coeur and James (Kathy) Lynn of Peoria; six grandchildren, Chris (Jessica) Bonnette of Pekin, Rev. Matthew (Melissa) Bonnette of Columbia, Alabama, Timothy (Melissa) Bonnette of Pekin, Nathan Lynn, Stephen (Deanna) Lynn, both of Creve Coeur and Jamie Lynn of Peoria; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Frank (Jean) Westfall of Denver, Colorado and two sisters-in-law, Marjorie Runyon of Delavan and Josie (Wayne) Newman of Kirksville, Missouri.

He had served in the United States Army.

Al owned and operated Lynn’s Christian Bookstore in downtown Pekin with his wife for many years. He also served in fulltime ministry in Pekin at Faith Baptist, Lewistown, Creve Coeur, Glasford, Toulon, and Rock Falls at Berean Baptist Church, where he was the founding Pastor.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur and the Association of Independent Baptist Churches of Illinois, where he was a past State representative. He was ordained at Faith Baptist Church in Pekin on May 16, 1982.

His funeral will be at noon Saturday, January 30, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur. Pastor David Lynn, his son, will officiate. Visitation will be two hours before the funeral Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin, with military rites accorded by the United States Army.
