

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-six years, Anna McClure Miller; infant son, Johnny Lee Miller; brothers, L. Ray Miller, E. Darrell Miller and Flay Miller; parents, Roy and Emma Pearl Miller.
He is survived by his son, Tom Miller (Pat) of Poca; son, Robert Miller (Deborah) of Saint Albans; grandchildren, Tommy Miller (Suzanne) of Scott Depot, Michele Miller of Poca and Rob Miller (Shannon) of Hurricane; great-grandchildren, Alex and Hannah Forsbrey, and Dylan and Taylor Miller; brother and sisters, Pam Shamblin, Daniel Miller, Pearl Dixon, Bernice Shamblin; special friend and companion, Drema Morris.
Calvin was a veteran of World War II, having served in Europe with the Army Air Corp. He was a B-17 ball turret gunner and a B-26 tail gunner. During his military service, he completed fifty-one bombing missions and was awarded ten Air Medals.
Calvin was a respected auto mechanic who worked at Cecil Goff’s and Eastern Garage in Charleston. In 1957, he started to work for Union Carbide at the Institute plant. In the early 1960’s, he worked as an original member of the Sevin Unit start-up crew. Calvin retired from the Union Carbide Welding shop in 1986.
Calvin was an active member of the Holiday Rambler camping club. He and his wife Anna visited much of the United States and parts of Canada during their extensive travels. He faithfully attended Bethany Baptist Church, where he served in many capacities.
Calvin was a long-time attendee of the Hanford Senior Center in Saint Albans and served on the official board for many years.
