

Charles Edward Hoff, Sr., 79, of St. Albans, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at his home. He was born September 6, 1937 in Clendenin, the son of Harry and Edith Samples Hoff. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Harry and Robert Hoff, and sister, Alma Young. Charles was a retired Senior Master Sergeant from the USAF with 20 years service and a Vietnam Veteran. He was retired from the US Postal Service with 20 years service as a letter carrier, clerk, and financial analyst. He was also owner and operator of Hoff Business Service for 30 years. He attended Clendenin High School, University of Maryland and Wichita State University. He was a member of National Association of Postal Supervisors, and Life Member of Disabled Veterans of America. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Peggy (Pat) Lou Hoff; sons, Keith Alan Hoff and his wife, Brenda of St. Albans and Charles (Eddie) Edward Hoff and his wife, Jennifer of Johnson City, Tenn.; daughter, Cathy Moreland and her husband, Steve of St. Albans; sister, Libby Comer and her husband Larry of Lucasville, Ohio; grandchildren, Mike Hoff, Pauli Moreland and Autumn Templeton; great-grandchildren, Emma Hoff, Evie Ramsey, Ava and Sophie Templeton. Celebration of Charles’s life will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B Street, St. Albans with Chaplain Pete Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park with Full Military honors. Gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
