He was preceded in death by his father, Laird Fain; mother, Emogene Fain; and sister, Joyce Fain Kennedy.
Dana served in the Vietnam War at age 17 for four years. He loved his country as much as he loved his family. He was an expert sharpshooter, an avid hunter and fisherman who loved nothing more than being in the woods or on a riverbank.
He leaves behind his beloved wife and soulmate, Dreama Fain; son, Heath Fain; daughter, Ashley Fain; stepdaughter, Aubrey Shelton; brother, Gary Fain; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Dana will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service to celebrate Dana's life will be 5 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at Valley Christian Church, Charleston. There will be a time of visitation with friends and family from 4 p.m. until service time.
