Gary Lynn Harrison

He was born July 3, 1946 in Charleston the son of Gobel and Ruby Harrison. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Gale, siblings Sgt. Gwendolyn Grady, Evon Young, Gobel Harrison, Jr., and Thomas Ray Harrison.

He was a 1964 graduate of Nitro High School. Gary was a US Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from the USPS where he worked at the distribution plant. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend that will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by daughter Lori McDonald, of Cross Lanes, son Phillip Harrison (September), of St Albans, grandchildren Jacob McDonald (Alexandra), Bethany McDonald, Sidney Harrison, Shayla Harrison, and Noah McDonald, sisters Barbara Barrett, of Cross Lanes, Edna Withrow (June), of Sissonville, Delores Jones, of Sissonville, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Gary’s life will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home with Pastor Richie McNeil officiating. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by St Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73.

Gathering of family and friends will be from 1 until time of service at the funeral home.
