Jared Brett Linkenauger

Jared Brett Linkenauger , 27, of Cross Lanes, lost his lengthy battle with addiction on December 12, 2015. Jared was born October 7, 1988, the youngest son of Timothy John and Jill Denise Linkenauger. He was predeceased by maternal grandfather, Quinton Young, and paternal grandmother, Margaret McClain. In addition to his parents, he is survived by brother, Timothy John Linkenauger II of Cross Lanes; maternal grandmother, Barbara Young of Dunbar; and paternal grandfather, Joseph McClain of Dunbar. Jared’s extended family includes the late Judith Shamblin, Harry Shamblin, Elizabeth Boggs and Warren Shamblin, Jr. Jared was a graduate of Nitro High School and Kanawha Valley Community and Technical College. He enjoyed sports and other outdoor activities prior to the onset of his illness. Jared spent the last years of his life trying to free himself from the clutches of addiction. Sadly, Jared is yet another casualty to this dreadful disease. We loved him unconditionally and now we must ‘let go and let God do what God wills’. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2015 at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, WV 25313, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service (from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.). Inurnment at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens will be at a later date.
