Kathryn H. Bone

She was born May 24, 1938 in Moorefield, a daughter of Emory Ward Helvey and Pauline Williams Helvey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Ward Helvey, and William Eugene Helvey.

Kathryn graduated from Marsh Fork High School in 1956 and earned her teaching degree at WV State College. She taught for 26 years in the Kanawha County School System at Cross Lanes Elementary.

Kathryn is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, James T., sons, Jim (Valerie), and John (Cheryl), her beloved grandchildren, Lauren Wood (Thomas), Benjamin Bone (Perri), Megan Bone, Caleb Bone (Samantha), and Eli Bone, 9 great grandchildren, and many other family members and friends.

Celebration of Kathryn’s life will be 1:00 Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home, Cross Lanes. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.

Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
