

Matthew was a talented and productive member of society who overcame many difficulties in his short life. He worked many years in the food service industry and served in the armed forces. Matthew was passionate about power lifting and fishing. He was animal lover and left behind his beloved pets, Thor, Freya, Tiny, Toby. He also considered himself a diehard member of "STEELER NATION."
He leaves behind his beloved girlfriend and future fiancée, Lillie Maynard, whom he loved dearly; his parents, Stephen and Elaine Carnes; and his brother, Logan Carnes, his best friend. He is also survived by grandmother Carol Carnes, and many aunts and uncles, including Kim and Edgar Akers, Mark Fortner, Laurie McDonnell, Christi and Sam Shannon, David and Nancy McClure, Ronald McClure and wife, Roger and Dianne McClure, Steven and Elizabeth McClure.
He has many cousins, including Brian McClure and family, Chadwick McClure, Grant McClure, Stefan McClure, Gabby Childs, Evie Shannon, Cameron Fortner, Sarah Birchfield, Annalisa and Jason McClure
He is now at home with our Lord, but will be dearly missed and NEVER FORGOTTEN.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 16, at Kings Worship Center in St. Albans, starting with visitation at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral service following at 1 p.m. Burial service will be held at Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by St. Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73.
