

Richard S. Truitt of Hurricane went home to be with the Lord on July 24th, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family. Richard served in the U.S. Air Force and was a retiree of the Maryland State Police and the State of WV Workers Compensation Division. After retirement he was a driver for Capital City Auto Auction for 10 ½ years. Surviving are a daughter and grandson, Valerie (Terry) Rucker of St. Albans and Aaron (Samantha) Truitt of Hurricane; brother, Allen Truitt of Salisbury, MD; sister, Kay Twigg of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Delores and his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Luther T. Truitt, Jr. of Stockton Md. Richard, Delores and Valerie resided in Jarrettsville, Md. from 1967-1982. Richard enjoyed the company of his dear friend, Audrey McCool of St. Albans for sixteen years. He was a member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church, St. Albans. Services will be held 2:00PM, Tuesday, July 28th, 2015 at Faith Missionary Baptist Church, St. Albans. Visitation will be from noon until service time at the Church on Tuesday. Graveside committal services will be at Mannington Memorial Cemetery 106 E. Main St., Mannington, WV 26582 at 1:00pm on Wednesday, July 29th, 2015. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Kanawha Hospice Care, 1001 Kennawa Dr. Charleston, WV 25311.
