He was born April 20, 1961, in Kansas City MO, the son of Woodrow and Luella Canterbury. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Seth Thomas Canterbury, and sisters, Joyce Berry and Charlotte Smith.
Tom was a retired coal miner and truck driver. He was a loving husband, father, and brother that will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, daughter, Brianna Canterbury, of Raleigh, NC, son, Alex Canterbury, of Logan, step son, David Crosby, of Arlington, TX, granddaughter, Lillian Hazel Erby, of Charleston, WV brothers, Linville Hensley, and Keith Canterbury (Leann), sister, Cindy Caldwell (Larry), and 11 nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Thomas’s life will begin at 5:00 P.M. Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Lyburn Freewill Baptist Church, Lyburn with Pastor Jodie Brown officiating.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 4 until time of service at the church.
