Barbara Storck, 86, entered into eternal peace on November 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 2, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York, she was raised in the Bronx and was the daughter of the late George Millon and Catherine (Meehan) Millon.
On March 2, 1968, Barbara married John Storck, at St. Helena’s Church in the Bronx. A proud graduate of St. Helena’s High School, Class of 1956, she went on to attend the Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in Manhattan. Barbara began her professional career at the American Can Company and later joined IBM, where she served as administrative assistant to the head of research. She was highly respected for her skill, dedication, and warmth, and took great pride in training and mentoring other secretaries.
In 1977, Barbara and John moved their family to Croton-on-Hudson, New York, where they built a loving home and found a vibrant community. Family was at the very center of Barbara’s life. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Among her fondest memories were the many special trips to Barnes & Noble with her granddaughter—simple, treasured outings that spoke to the joy she found in being a grandmother.
Upon retirement, Barbara and John embraced their love of travel, exploring Alaska, France, Italy, Germany, and many other destinations together. These journeys, filled with discovery and companionship, were among the great joys of her later years.
Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, John, of Croton; her children John (Dana) of Briarcliff Manor, Kathy Ryder (Fred) of Wappingers Falls, and Brian of New Rochelle; her beloved grandchildren Liam (Rebecca), Claire, and Patrick; her brother Jim and his wife Ophelia of Yarmouth, Massachusetts; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father George Millon, mother Catherine Millon, and stepmother Mary Millon.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 4:00–8:00 p.m. at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand Street, Croton-On-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Name of Mary Church in Croton-on-Hudson.
