Christopher Rock McVeety, Sr., of Croton-on-Hudson, NY passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the age of 58. Chris was born to James and Joyce (Rock) McVeety on May 25, 1960 in New York, NY. He married the love of his life Tania (Samulewski) McVeety in September 1989 and shortly thereafter moved to Croton-on-Hudson. Chris was known by many as ‘the unofficial mayor of Croton’ always helping a friend, neighbor or even a stranger. Chris worked as a property accountant for Houlihan-Parnes Realtors out of West Harrison, NY.
Chris is survived by his wife of 29 years Tania McVeety, his beloved son Christopher McVeety, Jr., and by his brothers Robert McVeety (Kathleen), Andrew McVeety (Katie), and Paul McVeety (Patricia). Chris is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 2-7pm at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Holy Name of Mary Church, Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Private cremation will follow.
