Mary was born in New York City on July 16th, 1932, to the late Daniel J. and Bridie (Moran) McCarthy. Mary had a long, distinguished career as a Computer Program writer for IBM in New York City. In her retirement years, she taught English-as-a-Second Language in Ossining, and CCD classes at St. Christopher’s Church in Buchanan. Mary was a parishioner of St. Augustine’s Church, Ossining, NY.
Mary is survived by her loving nieces and nephews, Maureen A. Cochran, Daniel F. McCarthy, Meg M. Shanahan, J. Brian McCarthy and Libby M. Welsh, and 19 grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Daniel A. McCarthy and David J. McCarthy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 41 Grand St., Croton-on-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 2nd at St. Augustine’s Church in Ossining, NY. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Verplanck.
