Patricia Marie Rhodes

Patricia Marie Rhodes of Croton-on-Hudson passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 17, 2016. She was 89 years of age. Pat was born on December 27, 1926 to Peter and Regina Cupolo (ne’e Fitzgerald) in Brooklyn, NY. After graduating from Bishop McDonnell High School, Patricia went to work at General Mills and there met her loving husband, Edwin Rhodes. They married in June of 1953.

Pat and Ed raised their two children in Floral Park, Pleasantville, and Pound Ridge, NY. Pat returned to school later in life to complete her Bachelor’s Degree at Pace University, and worked in the Employee Benefits Department at American Can Co. in Purchase, NY for more than twenty years.

After retirement, Pat and Ed moved to Mission Viejo, CA, traveled, and visited family. Pat returned to Westchester to Croton-on-Hudson to be nearer children and grandchildren after Ed's passing in January of 2005. Pat was a parishioner at Holy Name of Mary Church, an avid reader and Croton Free Library patron, and loved to meet new people and take walks in Half Moon Bay with her family and friends.

Pat was predeceased by her husband Edwin, son Stephen, sister Regina O'Donnell and brother Peter Fitzgerald. She is survived by her loving daughter Diane Warner (Michael), her adoring grandchildren Melissa, Daniel, and Mary Warner, and Joseph Rhodes, and her devoted sister, Rosemary Fitzgerald.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to her aide Rosa and to all of the dedicated professionals at Cedar Manor, where Pat spent the last four months of her life in their care.

In lieu of flowers, Patricia’s family would appreciate that her memory be honored with a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2900 Westchester Avenue, Suite 306, Purchase, NY 10577.

Visitation will be at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand Street, Croton from 5 to 8 PM on Friday, July 22, 2016. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 23rd at 10 am at Holy Name of Mary Church, 110 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson with burial to follow at Bethel Cemetery also in Croton.
