He was born on September 21,1936 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late Frank and Alice Waters Schultzel. He lived in Asbury, New Jersey for most of his life before moving to Croton-on-the-Hudson, New York.
Mr. Schultzel was a retired mechanic with the Hunterdon County Road Department in Flemington, New Jersey. He was a manuscript curator with the Hunterdon County Historical Society and was a certified lay speaker with the Asbury United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Hyatt; a stepdaughter Melissa H.; four children from a previous marriage; Ronald Jr., Todd, Christopher and Victoria; along with many grandchildren and four nieces, Dawn Hamilton, Pamela Gobiel, Laura Lettenmaier and Kathleen Veith. He is now reunited with his sister.
