Virginia and I met at Misericordia Nursing School many years ago, we were good friends since 1949, we went in the Army Nurse Corp together, we stayed friends all these years, it's been 70 years! Last time I saw her was in NYC with Jane ( we were all classmates) and we met and went out to lunch, always a good time catching up like we never missed a beat. I will miss our phone calls, as we got older that's more of what we did, and always a Birthday card and Christmas cards! I have so many found memories and will miss her dearly.
My prayers are with Virginia and her family.

My aunt was the best!
Always supportive in my early years, she was like a second mother to me.
She took me on my first plane ride and many other places afterwards. I loved visiting her in New York City. Sometimes we would eat pizza at Lombardi’s, sometimes we would just sit in a church relaxing and look at the stain glass.
I could never repay all the things that she did for me. I shall live the rest of my life with her in my heart.
Miss you forever

My Aunt Virginia was an inspiration to all that crossed her path. She was intelligent, beautiful, strong-willed, kind-hearted, not to mention a world traveler. She devoted her career to helping others as a nurse and serving her country in the military. I cherish the memories I have of visiting her in her Manhattan home and listening to her stories from her life and travels. She had a big heart for animals and gave me and my family our first cat Molly, which she found as a kitten, homeless, in the city. I will miss my aunt dearly. It makes me sad to think I won't run into her on the 6 train platform anymore, or gallivanting around New York City (which happened surprisingly often in a city of millions!) There is a small piece of NYC missing without her. She was a lovely human and will be missed dearly. <3
