Dorothy Ann Smith

Dorothy Ann (Szura) Smith age 81, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2019. She was born on December 16, 1937 in Hegewisch, IL. She was married to the love of her life Lawrence R. Smith for 62 years. She is survived by her son Dale (Pam) Smith; grandchildren Ashley (Brian) Vaundry, Bill (Becca) Poulos, Bryan Smith and Stephanie Smith; and two great-grandchildren Elena Vaundry and Jameson Poulos. She is preceded in death by her daughter Machelle Smith. Dorothy was an amazing mother to not only her own children but also the neighborhood kids. Dorothy’s pride & joy were her grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN) with Rev. Robert Parnell officiating.
