Roger W. Colby

Roger W. Colby, age 78, of Lowell, IN, formerly from Highland, IN, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2022 at his residence. Roger was the loving husband to Beckie Hill-Colby for 38 years; the former husband of Gayle Dortch; beloved father to Dawn (Rick) Kubilius and Danielle Sauzer; proud grandfather of Zachary (Jenna) Marlett, Brittany (Alex) Vegh, Trevor Serbin and Haley Sauzer; great-grandfather to Harrison and Owen Marlett, and two more expected great-grandchildren; and cherished brother to Betty Vogt and Byron (Joan) Colby. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Don, Merle and Roland; and was a fond uncle to many. Roger honorably served in the United States Army National Guard for over six years. Roger worked for Lever Brothers for over 14 years. He retired from AT&T as a repairman after 28 years of service. After retirement, he enjoyed working for Schepel Buick as a courtesy driver, utilizing his many talents and practicing his gift of gab. Roger was a loving and devoted family man. He enjoyed being with his family and telling stories. His favorite pastime was being in his yard and gardening. Visitation will be Monday, May 9, 2022 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
