

She was born April 27, 1932 in Chicago to Albert and Sadie (Pappalardo) Yarious. On September 12, 1953 she married Russell Bethley in Chicago.
Alberta was a resident of Lindenhurst from 1958 to 2004 when she moved to Huntley. She was always very active. She loved roller skating and didn’t retire her skates until she was 80. For many years she also enjoyed square dancing. Alberta was an active member of the Red Hat Society. She was a great cook, well known for her lasagna and her love of baking but especially her pies. Alberta traveled the United States throughout her life visiting 49 of the 50 states.
She is survived by her children, Christianne FitzRandolph, Russell (Jean) Bethley Jr., and Rosemarie (Brent) Shifley; her grandchildren, Ami Bohan, Lisa FitzRandolph, Sharon Junkin, Steven Normandin, Michael Bethley, and Lilliana Shifley; her six great-grandchildren; and her sister, Dolores Pedersen.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brother, Anthony Yarious.
A memorial visitation will be from 1 to 2 on Saturday, October 3 at Springbrook Community Church, 10115 W. Algonquin Rd., Huntley. The memorial service will be at 2 pm followed by light refreshments.
