Carl John Fava Sr.

Carl was born on May 30, 1959 to Carlo and Madeleine Fava. After graduating from Rolling Meadows High School in 1977, he went on to Wyoming Tech where he studied automotive mechanics. After years of schooling and certifications, he obtained the title of Master Mechanic.

After graduation, Carl was employed by the city of Rolling Meadows, he then pursued a new opportunity with BFI, where he worked for several years. After gaining further knowledge and experience, Carl went on to work for Trench-it/Intren where he was employed for 23 years.

Aside from being a devoted father, he enjoyed tinkering around in his garage and helping his friends and family with various projects, especially when a vehicle motor was involved. On a nice day, he could be found cruising around the neighborhood on his golf cart or grilling in the backyard. Big C also spent many wonderful years exploring the neighborhood with his best friend Bailey.

Carl and Sandy were married in 1989 and spent 34 years together raising their three children Amanda, Carl Jr. and Rylee. Carl is preceded in death by his parents Carlo and Madeline. He is survived by his loving wife Sandy, children, grandchildren, brothers, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Carl will forever be in our memories and continue to live on through the people who loved him most.

The family will hold a viewing on March 13th from 3-7pm at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
