 Uncle Darren-   It's hard to come up with the words to express how much of a struggle it is to fathom a world without you in it. You were always the life of the party and a truly wonderful person. You were a passionate, kind soul who made the extra effort in every situation to express your unwavering love for your family and friends. Your kind heart poured out into your infectious smile and sparkling eyes. Although we didn't always see eye to eye, you were always willing to listen to what I had to say. I will always appreciate the way you treated me with love and respect. You always were willing to listen to my thoughts and opinions regardless of my age. I am truly grateful for all of the years God allowed me to spend with you. You are deeply loved and missed. -Michele

I have no words to express my shock and sorrow over Darren's passing. I was both a friend and a coworker and will miss him in both aspects of life.  Darren carried a bright light within him that shone in his smile, his love for his family and music! May that light be remembered by all who knew him.

Our loss of Darren is not merely a light that has gone out, but a darkness that will linger forever. He was a light that drew you in. When he smiled, his eyes would sparkle.
Our relationship was special. An unspeakable, unbreakable bond. We had a 45 year history together. It was always so easy with him; we'd pick up right where we left off, no matter how much time had passed. Every moment I spent with him, I was happy. I have such fond memories of our time together. I will always miss him and he will always hold a very special place in my heart.  I thank your family for always keeping me close. My tears are not only for my loss, but for yours as well; he was a wonderful, kind, sweet man who will be missed terribly. And I know that someday he will greet me again, with that gentle smile and another wonderful hug. I'll love you always Darren ~ Susan

In memory of a loving father. 

I know everyone knows how much Darren loved his children.  He took pride and was so proud in all they have accomplished and the wonderful teenagers and young adults they have become.
He was always there for them whenever they needed him.  Everything he did he did for them to make sure they  had a loving and memorable life.   He always enjoyed spending time with them going downtown chicago was a favorite, going to the movies, taking them shopping and having them over for dinner.  
They may have struggled at times like parents with teenagers do but that never changed his love for them.  They always had fun when they were together.
As the mother of his children I could write forever. His eyes truly did sparkle when he was with them.  His legacy will live on in them forever. 


To our 3 wonderful children. Always know your father loved you with all his heart and soul.

To all his brothers and sisters,  he loved you all so very very much and was always happy he had all of you. He always told me of all the fun times you had together.  
I was happy to see he finally was taking time to have fun.
You are a wonderful family with lots of happy memories to hold close to your heart. 

Darren-I hope you will still help  from up above to guide our children through life. Please always know in your heart how much they loved you, and they will always know how much you loved them. 
They are proud to call you their daddy.

To Darrens's children and siblings:  Our heart goes out to you during this difficult time.  Although we can't be there in person, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My Prayers are with your family - I worked here at Nicor Gas with Darren for about a year - he definitely had a unique way of thinking through a problem and working it out - very high energy and always, always, always willing to speak his mind - He worked hard and took on more than his plate could hold with every expectation of getting it done.  Many times he did and many times he didn't - but the times he didn't were the times I had the opportunity to work in team with him and see his passion for his work.  I don't know his family - but I'll tell you something you already know... Dad was a good man, worked hard, and enjoyed life and was genuine - he was authentic.  God bless your family - peace be with you.

Darren was a wonderful friend to my brother John and just an all-around great guy.  We all grew up in marching band together and spent a lot of time practicing and on the road.  Wonderful memories that will last a lifetime were created during those years. Sending love and prayers to your family Darren, you will be missed.

Kenn and I are so incredibly shocked and saddened over Darren's passing.  We love you all and are so sorry to each of you for losing your brother, father, uncle and friend.  When I think of Darren, I think of his great hugs, his constant and crinkly smiles, and his genuine interest in every conversation. He had a sincerity and positive energy that made him not only very special, but very rare. I will miss him and am grateful to have known him.

Darren was my coworker for many years. He never wanted me to worry or get stressed by anything work related. It was all ok. He was a unique person who seemed to thrive on staying busy. He spoke often of fun times with his family and his children were the highest priority. I am saddened to hear of his passing.

The staff here at The Villages at Canterfield would like to send our deepest sympathies to Darren's friends and family. Not only was he an amazing resident who cared about the community and his neighbors but we also considered him a dear friend. He attended all of our resident functions where he often spoke fondly of his children, he visited us frequently in the office and was always a joy to be around, we will miss him dearly.

My prayers go out to the entire family.  I am extremely sorry that a man was taken at such a young age.  The Lord has him now.  R.I.P. Darren.

I am so sad to hear of the sudden passing of your beloved brother. I remember Darren at Michele and Dick's 10th Anniversary Party. He went out of his way to make us feel so welcome and comfortable at such a large gathering. We enjoyed talking about drums, music, and other things. He was so likable, helpful, and friendly.
