Eugene Marro Gelasi, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024, at the age of 92 in Hamilton, Ohio.
Eugene was born on February 13, 1932, in Lucca, Italy. He was known for his unwavering kindness and gentle spirit. Eugene’s life was a testament to his dedication to his family.
Eugene is survived by his loving wife Francine of 64 years, his children Gene (Kristin) and Tina (David), and his grandchildren Dominic, Lauryn, Anthony and Will.
Eugene is survived by his older brothers, John and Frank, who continue to honor his memory. He is preceded by his parents Ida & Paul Gelasi.
Eugene proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, demonstrating bravery and commitment. His time in the military was a source of great pride for him and instilled in him a deep sense of duty and honor.
Eugene was also a skilled carpenter, renowned for his craftsmanship and attention to detail. He dedicated himself to his work, bringing his expertise to projects both large and small.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and integrity. Though he may be gone, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will held on June 21, 2024, from 10 AM to 12 PM at Querhammer & Flagg in Crystal Lake, Illinois followed by a memorial service at 12 PM. A light lunch will be provided after the service.
