Genevieve J. “Genny” Stanczyk, 84, of Huntley, died Sunday October 2, 2011 at Fair Oaks Health Care. She was born September 22, 1927 in Chicago to Frank and Katie (Szymonczyk) Zielinski. She lived in Chicago most of her life before relocating to Huntley with her son and daughter-in-law.
She was active in the senior group in Chicago, enjoyed watching and listening to the birds, bingo, bowling, crochet, and watching Days of our Lives.
She is survived by her son Tom (Brenda) Baron, grandchildren; Eric (Debbie) Baron, Shelly (Tom) Morrison, great-grandchildren; Nora, Ella, Sarah, Jared, and Rachael, her sisters Mary Cargill and Helen Patyk, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her first husband John Baron; second husband Edward Stanczyk; her parents; brothers John, Casimir, Edward “Moe”, Frank, Peter; and her sister Frances.
Visitation will be from 9 am until the time of service at 11 am on Saturday October 8 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave Crystal Lake. Private interment in Crystal Lake Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 405 Lake Zurich Rd Barrington, IL. 60010.
