She was born August 13, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri to Orton Lester and Rachel Lenore (Parsons) Wood. Gloria was a life-long learner. She was caring, giving, fun-loving, and quick-witted. She loved games and was an excellent seamstress. She was a wonderful mother to her daughter and a fun grandma to her grandson. Gloria moved from St. Louis to South Elgin to be near her daughter in 2012 and she truly enjoyed the two years she spent at Heritage Woods.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Kristine (David) Sommer; her grandson, Grant Sommer; and her siblings, Barbara Wood and Chip Wood.
