Grace Ann Foss

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Grace Foss, who lost her life to a short but grueling battle with mesothelioma cancer. Grace's indomitable spirit and unwavering determination were a testament to her resilience, as she never lost hope and fought until the very end.

Grace was born to Mary and James Candella, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her five children: Vince (TJ), Shawn (Victoria), Crystal, Tiffany, and Lance. In addition, she is mourned by her four siblings, Jim Candella, Shirley Winiecki, Diane (Jay) Rocha, and Janet (Jack) Colburn. Grace leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, with her two grandchildren, Vinnie and Leslie, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Throughout her life, Grace faced numerous obstacles, but she faced them head-on to provide the best possible life for her children. She worked tirelessly at multiple jobs to support her family and always showed up, never missing a milestone or moment in her children's lives. Grace attended every sporting event, graduation, play, music gig, or surgery, even if it meant traveling for hours to be there.

As her children grew older, Grace found joy in spending time with her siblings on road trips to West Virginia and Northern Michigan. These family adventures created cherished memories that will forever be held close to the hearts of those who loved her.

Grace's generosity and compassion knew no bounds. She had the biggest heart and went above and beyond to help others, whether it was giving back to the Moose Lodge or assisting relatives in times of need. She took great pride in her work, and even while battling illness, she ensured that her responsibilities were taken care of.

In celebrating the life of Grace Foss, let us remember her as a loving mother, devoted sister, doting grandmother, and a selfless friend. May her strength, resilience, and boundless love serve as an inspiration to us all. Grace will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A memorial visitation for Grace will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:45 PM at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, Illinois 60014, followed by a moment of sharing from 4:45 PM to 5:00 PM.
