

She was born May 24, 1925 in Stonington, IL to Clifford and Hazel (Keiser) Weaver.
Joyce was a devout Catholic and believed in serving others. She raised two children and, for many years after her husband Ed's death, raised them alone and worked hard to support them. She served as a social worker for the state of Illinois for a time along with various other jobs over the years. The professional accomplishment that she was most proud of and devoted the majority of her working life to was as founding Director of the Christian County Senior Citizens Center in Taylorville. Joyce loved nature, birds, and baseball. She regularly watched the St. Louis Cardinals play and knew the names of all of the players.
Joyce is survived by her daughter Monica, son-in-law Steve Szalaj, grandson Aaron Szalaj and his wife Becky, Joyce's great granddaughters Mia and Margaret, grandson Christopher Szalaj and his wife Jennifer, Joyce's great granddaughters Abigail and Evelyn, Joyce's son Ned Tamburini and her granddaughters Chelsea and Victoria Tamburini.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund Tamburini, and her siblings, Gloria (Weaver) Hood, Clifford D. Weaver, and Melvin D. Weaver.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Saturday, April 2 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, W. Adams St., Taylorville. Following the interment in Oak Hill Cemetery there will be a luncheon at the church.
