

She was born February 4, 1936 in Chicago to Robert and Ingrid Irene (Niemi) Skinner. Bobbie spent most of her life in Crystal Lake where she met Gerald Lawrence Roewer, whom she married on September 23, 1955. She graduated from Crystal Lake High School. She was also a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Crystal Lake.
She worked as a travel agent and as a waitress. She enjoyed being outdoors, walking, gardening, swimming, and biking. She loved to attend and watch her grandkids’ baseball games and wrestling matches. She also loved making stained glass art, quilting, singing, and going to church. Another thing she enjoyed was traveling, including her trips to Arkansas, visiting family in Florida, and various cruises. She did also live in Oregon for awhile and often spoke about how much she loved it there.
She is survived by her children, Lawrence (Annette) Roewer of Woodstock, Charles (Kathy) Roewer of Belvidere, and Michael (Jill) Roewer, of Belvidere; her grandchildren, Morgan Roewer, Chase Roewer, Robert Roewer, Diana Roewer, Mathew Roewer, James Roewer, Levi Stambaugh, Trent Roewer, and Laura Fortner; great-grandchildren, Esabella, Rydell, and Avery; and her siblings, Elizabeth Holmes of Baxley, GA, Sandra Schreiber of Blackshear, GA, Robert Skinner Jr. or Waycross, GA, and Debra Harbison of Monticello, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; her daughter, Geri-Lynn Allmond; her parents; and her brother, Gary Skinner.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm on Wednesday, February 26 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The service will be at 10am on Thursday, February 27 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 485 W. Woodstock St., Crystal Lake.
Interment will be in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
