Jeanne S. Benson

She was born July 6, 1924, in Oak Park, to David J. and Frances E. (Gurnea) Serviss. On August 31, 1946 she married Robert W. Benson in Chicago.

She was a member of the Professional Secretary Association and a very active member of St. Mary Episcopal Church in Crystal Lake, serving as the past treasurer of the Altar Guild.

She is survived by her sons, James (Elizabeth) Benson and Bill (Elaine) Benson; grandchildren, Will (Sarah) Benson, Michael Benson, Colleen (Cliff) Benson-Ortiz, Erin (Erik) Benson-Eblen, Shannon Bass, Robert Bass and Kathleen Bass; great-grandchildren, Grace Benson, Sean, Lauren, and Andrew Ortiz; nieces, Ann (Darrell) Kinkel, Mary Jeanne (James) Cashin, and Laura (Joel) Arce ; and nephew, Thomas (Patricia) Giblin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; and her sister, Helen (Thomas) Giblin

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, March 1, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. A funeral service will be at 10:00am on Friday, March 2, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Hillside
