He was born May 29, 1934 in Roanoke Rapids, NC to Claude and Gladys (Waters) Gayle. Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He attended the U.S. Naval Training Center in Bainbridge, Maryland. He then served as a medic on the USS Alstede. Jim was a funny man who loved telling jokes.
Jim is survived by his children, Gwendolyn Glodowski and Jimmie Gayle; his siblings, Sigsby Gayle, Peggy Neaghery, Jerry Gayle, and Fern Babitsch; his grandchildren, Dayna Dabek and Dawn Dabek; and his great-grandsons, Skylar and Felix Minor.
There will be a memorial visitation from 1 to 4pm on Sunday, August 27 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. There will be military honors at 3:30pm.
