Kyra Lee Brunette

She was born December 21, 1946 in Oak Park to Albert and Hermine (Vadjik) Kohout. On July 4, 1970 she married Clyde Brunette at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Cary.

Kyra was dedicated to raising her children and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Kyra was also very involved in helping to run the family business, Builders Glass & Mirror, with her husband. Her family enjoyed her great sense of humor. She had a strong will and battled valiantly for many years with various medical issues. Her strength is admired by many.

Kyra is survived by her husband, Clyde; her children, Anna (Brian) Steele, Bonnie (Harry) Fries, and Benjamin (Sarah) Brunette; her grandchildren, Grant, Simon, Harry, Lila, and a another granddaughter on the way; her mother, Hermine Kohout; and her siblings, Karla August, Kurt (Lana) Kohout, Kerry (Bob) Stallard, and Kent (Carol) Kohout.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm on Friday, October 10 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. There will be a time of sharing at 7pm.

Interment in Windridge Memorial Park will be private.

Memorials may be made to The Children’s Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County at www.cachelps.org. Kyra took great pride in her daughter Bonnie’s work with this organization.
