He was born June 6, 1959 in Park Ridge to Barbara (McDonald) and Leroy E. Mueller Sr. He grew up in Arlington Heights with his sisters, Sandy and Leanne. His Grandma Mueller played a big role in his childhood. Skip earned the level of Eagle Scout and enjoyed playing baseball as a boy. He later coached his children in baseball and softball.
On April 14, 1984 he married Cathy Flagg. Together they raised their children in Elk Grove Village before moving to West Dundee. Skip loved Cathy's job as a Flight Attendant. He was often heard saying "Marry me, fly free."
Skip was a jack of all trades. Throughout his life he had many professions starting as a young boy delivering the Herald newspapers. He had several printing jobs and then made the jump to truck driving. He eventually went into business for himself, creating Mueller Services Ltd. He was a business owner for almost 40 years. He worked with his son, Jonathan, and then transitioned the business to him. As Jonathan took on a great role it allowed Skip to focus his attention on a new business. His love for driving a semi "drove" him to start his own trucking company.
When Skip wasn't hard at work, he loved family vacations but truly enjoyed their trips to Hawaii. Skip's faith was important to him and he played an active role as Vice President at his former church, St. Peter's in Arlington Heights. He was also a loving husband and a proud dad and grandpa.
Skip is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Cathy; his children, Hilary Mueller and Jonathan Mueller; his grandson, Noah; his sisters, Sandy (Bill) Dean and Leanne Sutton; his mother-in-law, Elaine Flagg and the rest of his Michigan family; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Barbara Mueller.
