Born on February 11, 1928 in Rockford to Benjamin and Francesca Flores. She married Salomon Sanchez. Margaret and Salomon were very active with the Illinois Migrant Labor Council. Even after Salomon’s passing Margaret continued to provide assistance to Mexican immigrants. They were also very active with the Cordi-Marian Sisters and were founding members of the Chicago Mexican Chamber of Commerce.
Margaret was the loving mother of the late Robert (Gregoria) Sanchez, Manuel “Manny” (Pat Pulido), Richard (Louise), Virginia Patano, Salomon Jr. (Cynthia Janzen), Francis X, and Patrick (Virginia); cherished grandmother of 16, great-grandmother of 27, and great-great-grandmother of one.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9pm on Wednesday, January 20 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11am on Thursday, January 21 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Ave, Woodstock.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
