Mary "Pat" Patricia Jacobs

Mary Patricia "Pat" Jacobs, 83, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully on September 18, 2022.

She was born May 6, 1939 in Chicago to William T. and Mary (DeVuono) Carlin. On February 13, 1960 she married Leo Arthur Jacobs. Together they raised five children. Once all of her children were in school, she stopped babysitting and rejoined the workforce. During her 28 year career at the Hoffman Estates Park District she decided to go back to school for her Bachelor's Degree and graduated in 1993. In addition to her position at the Park District as the Business Manager, she also taught and prepared taxes for H&R Block.

Pat was very active in the community. She was a commissioner on the Hoffman Estates Police and Fire Board, Girl Scout leader, Cub Scout leader, PTA president, and everyone knew her as the "Witch" at the Hoffman Estates Park District Spook House.

Pat will be missed by her children, Catherine, John (Lisa), Jeannie (Mitch Bittenbender), Tom (Kris); her grandchildren, Jonathan (Corinne), Meagan (Joey), Caitlyn (RJ), Matthew (Sara), Tony, Amanda (Chris), Brittany (Dan), Hayley (Shane), Blake, Makenna; her great-grandchildren, Cameron, Mila, Natalie, Sophia, Dustin, Aidan, Max, Henry, Kaiden; her brother, William (Jane) Carlin; and large extended family.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; her son, Leo Jr; and her parents, William and Mary.

There will be a visitation from 8am to 9:30am on Thursday, September 22 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.

Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery in Palatine.
