

He was born December 12, 1937, in Chicago to Peter and Agnes (Kavanaugh) Petrouski. He married Patricia A. Van Slyke on April 13, 2002, in Carmel, California.
Pete was a graduate of De LaSalle Institute in 1955 and De Paul University in 1971. He proudly served in the military for our country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959.
Pete had a multifaceted career in Real Estate, earning his CCIM designation, as a company owner, a Broker and Commercial real estate Analyst. He was also a Certified Business Coach and mentored many with his wisdom and years of experience. Pete served as Illinois CCIM Chapter President. In November of 2009, Pete was awarded the Charity Service Award from the CCIM, Illinois Chapter, for his dedicated service in working with charitable organizations.
Pete was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and a Eucharistic Minister for the Homebound. He was a regular volunteer as a driver for Faith in Action in Crystal Lake. In addition, he was active in both the Crystal Lake and McHenry Chambers of Commerce.
Golfing, history reading, travel, and playing with his grandchildren were great joys in his life.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia; three sons, Pete of Crystal Lake, Thomas (Nicole) of Crystal Lake, and John of San Rafael, California; a daughter, Jacqueline of Crystal Lake; and two step-daughters, Shelly (David) Bergsma and Lori (George) Kokaska, both of Lake Geneva, WI. He was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren, Ron, Dakota, Cameron, Natalie, Nina, Jax, Elsie, and Caylie. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Lanigan and Judi Petrouski, both of Chicago; and a brother, Bob Petrouski of Lockport; as well as nieces, nephews, and many friends in the community.
Visitation will be from Noon to the 1:30pm funeral Mass on Saturday, May 22, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
Inurnment will follow in Holy Apostles Catholic Cemetery, McHenry.
